Abstract
Following up 20 cases of choriocarcinoma proved completely cured both clinically and hormone studies for 6 years from 1965 through 1971, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chonnam National University Medical School present as follows : 1) No recurrences were seen in 1 case for over 5 years, 3 for 3-4 years, 6 for 2 years and 8 for 1 year of follow up respectively. 2 cases, however, relapsed in 4 months. 2) The author`s study coincides with those of others in that all the recurrences of choriocarcinoma presumed completely remitted, took place within a period of 1 year. 3) Complete healing being defined as negative Friedman reaction to 50 rabbit unit and normalization of clinical signs and symptoms in author`s cases, 10% recurred within 1 year. This rate demonstrates comparatively lower incidence than those obtained through other than Friedman test. 4) Recurrences were thought to be derives from the lower titer of HCG which passed undetected in the negative Friedman reation to 50 rabbit unit, a landmark of conclution of treatment. It was found that 20cc. of urine equals 50 rabbits unit¡Ö250 International Unit, a remarkably higher titer than physiologic LH. 5) Upper-most value of LH, by and large, is expressed to be 40cc. of urine¡Ö25 rabbit unit¡Ö125 International Unit in the ovulatory period and 60cc. of urine¡Ö17 rabbit unit¡Ö 85 International Unit for secretory and proliferative phases. Persuit of 4 cases of hydatidiform mole showed that treatmeny should be continues till 40cc. and 60cc. of urine turned out negative to detect scant amount of HCG which might be contained in the normal range of LH to reduce recurrences to the minimum.
